Arrest warrant for ex-Rangers owner Craig Whyte issued by High Court

High Court issues arrest warrant for Whyte

The High Court has issued an arrest warrant for former Rangers owner Craig Whyte.

The 43-year-old, who recently vowed to return to Scotland to help the police with an inquiry relating to his 2011 takeover of the club, missed his fourth court hearing this morning.

The warrant is in relation to a case, which the businessman lost, involving ticketing firm Ticketus.

According to Sky Sports News, the Royal Courts of Justice heard that Whyte, who has repeatedly failed to attend court hearings this year, owes more than £20m.

A separate custodial order has also been issued, which means that should Whyte return to the UK, he faces arrest and a potential jail sentence of 28 days.
