David Beckham praised by Eva Longoria for philanthropic efforts

American actress Eva Longoria has praised Paris Saint-Germain midfielder David Beckham for his charitable efforts.

The former Desperate Housewives star recognised the ex-England captain's work outside of the sport during the 2013 Global Gift Gala Paris ceremony.

"The Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award recognises prominent figures who dedicate their time and energy to helping those in need," The Express quotes Longoria as saying.

"David has worked extensively with a number of charities and we are delighted to be able to honour his humanitarian work at this special event."

Beckham has supported charities including Malaria No More UK and UNICEF.
