Olympiacos striker Alan Pulido kidnapped in native Mexico

Officials have confirmed that Olympiacos's Mexican frontman Alan Pulido has been kidnapped in his homeland.

It is claimed that six masked men took the 25-year-old after he had left a party near his home in Ciudad Victoria during the early hours of this morning.

Government figures show that 1,000 people are kidnapped each year in the Central American country, although the true number is thought to be much higher.

The striker, who has made six appearances for his nation, joined Olympiacos last year.

Pulido's girlfriend is believed to have been unharmed in the incident.
