A number of unhappy Norwich City fans are reportedly trying to manipulate the Player of the Season award by nominating reserve goalkeeper Carlo Nash.

Supporters who have been left feeling disgruntled by the Canaries' season, which could end in relegation, have backed Nash to clinch the Barry Butler memorial trophy.

The award is given to the player who receives the most votes from the supporters, 2,000 of which have voted via the club's Facebook page, according to EDP24.

In response to some tweets, Nash, who has featured on the bench nine times this season, wrote: "I would have to graciously decline and of course give it to someone who has earned it."

Nash has also been backed by fans on Twitter with the hashtag #NCFCPOTS.
