Tulisa Contostavlos: 'Danny Simpson was obsessed with me'

British popstar Tulisa Contostavlos has claimed that Newcastle United defender Danny Simpson was "obsessed" with her before their relationship.

The former X Factor judge has revealed that their split derived from a number of spats, one of which came about when Simpson became angry at the singer for putting a pair of expensive Louboutin shoes in a Tesco bag.

"He was a fan," Tulisa told The Sun. "He was obsessed for six years. He had a massive crush on me. Finally he found somebody who knew me.

"He wasn't a celebrity until he met me. He was a famous footballer but not a celebrity. As soon as he got with me, he became a celebrity footballer."

The couple started dating last November.
