Newcastle United's Cheik Tiote 'to contest multiple motoring charges'

Tiote 'to fight motoring charges'

Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote will fight against multiple motoring charges, a court has heard.

The Ivory Coast international has been accused of using a false Belgian driving licence, committing fraud while trying to obtain a UK driving licence, as well as making a false statement to gain insurance.

The 27-year-old has also been charged with driving his car without a valid licence or insurance in February of this year.

It is understood that Tiote will contest the charges, with a trial expected to be carried out in October, according to the Daily Mail.

Tiote will enter a plea at a hearing on September 6.
