Remy in court on drink-driving charge

Newcastle United's on-loan forward Loic Remy has appeared in court on a charge of alleged drink-driving.

The 27-year-old was stopped by police on March 9 while driving a Porsche Cayenne along the A696 Woolsington Bypass in Newcastle.

According to Chronicle Live, Remy appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court this week to enter a not guilty plea to the alleged incident, where he is said to have been 11 microgrammes over the limit.

The judge took into consideration Remy's potential attendance with France at the World Cup in Brazil when setting the trial date of July 15.
