Newcastle United's on-loan forward Loic Remy was reportedly involved in a car crash with a taxi driver near St James' Park.
The Frenchman is said to have pulled across the taxi in his Audi R8 car at a junction around two weeks ago.
Taxi driver Andrew Watson told The Sun that he and his passengers suffered minor injuries, while Remy limped out of his car after hurting his left leg.
The 26-year-old is said to have left the car via the passenger side as his door would not open due to the crash.
