Newcastle United recruit Papa John's as pizza partner

Newcastle United announce a new partnership with takeaway pizza chain Papa John's.

Newcastle United have announced that they have secured a partnership with pizza takeaway chain Papa John's.

The Magpies may have failed to bring in any permanent signings in the latest transfer window, but they have expanded their off-field deals.

Papa John's will offer Newcastle fans half-price pizzas every time that the Magpies score twice in a Premier League fixture.

Head of partnerships Dale Aitchison told the club's official website: "This is a really exciting partnership and one that I'm sure the supporters will enjoy.

"The fans play a big part in our performances at home and on the road and it's great that Papa John's have shown their appreciation for the support they give our players."

The North-East outfit are currently eighth in the Premier League table.
