Beckham watches Heat's playoff opener

Retired footballer David Beckham returned to Florida this week to watch Miami Heat soar to victory over the Brooklyn Nets in their Eastern Conference playoff opener.

The 39-year-old is working on his own MLS franchise in Miami, but opted to switch from football to basketball for the evening as he sat in the front row at the American Airlines Arena.

The former England captain, who sat alongside Bolivian businessman Marcelo Claure, watched the Heat ease to a 107-86 victory over the Nets, who will go head to head with their opponents once again on Thursday evening.

Beckham made the trip to Miami after attending the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night with wife Victoria.
