Manchester United are considering badge change

Manchester United are considering reintroducing the words 'football club' to the club badge.

Manchester United are considering changing their club crest.

Chief executive Ed Woodward has revealed that the owners would like to reintroduce the words 'football club' to the Red Devils' badge.

He stressed the importance of remaining a football club, not purely motivated by commercial revenue.

"I didn't like the change of badge. Joel [Glazer] didn't like the change," Woodward told reporters.

"We will look at that and have a think about it. We are a football club, not a business.

"I stressed to our staff that we are a 135-year-old club and that's what you have to remember."

The words 'football club' were removed from the badge in 1998 in a commercially motivated move which angered some fans.
