Manchester United's Luke Shaw: 'We pranked Ashley Young after bird poo incident'

Luke Shaw reveals that he and his Manchester United teammates mocked Ashley Young following his bird poo incident by hanging a fake bird in the dressing room.

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has revealed that he and his teammates mocked Ashley Young with a dressing-room prank after a bird defecated in his mouth during a Premier League match.

At one point during United's season opening 2-1 defeat to Swansea City in August, camera footage picked up the unfortunate incident involving Young.

Following on from that match, Shaw and his fellow United stars wanted to get their own back at Young, who is deemed as the "joker" of the pack.

In an interview with Match of the Day magazine, Shaw said: "Ashley Young is the joker in the dressing room. We still laugh about the time he got bird poo in his mouth against Swansea.

"If you ask him now, he'll say it wasn't bird poo. In the changing room we hung a fake bird above his place as a joke which he didn't like."

United are currently third in the Premier League table.
