Manchester United's Wayne Rooney jets to Portugal on family holiday

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney distanced himself from the recent transfer rumours by jetting to Portugal with his family.

The England international is currently nursing a hamstring injury, which forced him out of the Red Devils' pre-season tour under new manager David Moyes.

Despite suggestions that Rooney could be playing for a new club during the 2013-14 campaign, the striker looked relaxed on a beach in Portugal with his wife Coleen and sons Kai and Klay.

Rooney is expected to return to action in a pre-season friendly in Stockholm next week.
