Greater Manchester Police tweet "missing person" joke over Wayne Rooney

Greater Manchester Police tweet a controversial "missing person" joke about Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Greater Manchester Police posted a controversial "missing person" tweet about Wayne Rooney at the weekend, in reference to his current poor form at Manchester United.

The England striker, who is captain for both club and country, has managed to score just two Premier League goals this season.

The 30-year-old also failed to make an impact in Saturday's goalless draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Over the weekend, @GMPCityCentre tweeted: "Missing Person-Wayne Rooney last seen in the Trafford area wearing a red shirt , any sightings please inform colleagues @gmpurmston".

Meanwhile, United will switch their attention to the Champions League this week when they take on CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
