Nike, Adidas 'in bidding war to become Manchester United's kit sponsors'

Nike, Adidas 'battle for Man Utd kit deal'

Sportswear giants Nike and Adidas are reportedly battling it out for the exclusive rights to become Manchester United's kit sponsor from 2015 onwards.

The Premier League champions currently have a deal with Nike, but the Red Devils are free to speak to other manufacturers after Nike's period of exclusivity expired last July.

According to the Daily Mail, Adidas, US firm Warrior and Puma have all held talks with United commercial director Richard Arnold this week in a bid to secure a deal with the club.

Reports have claimed that Nike are current favourites to renew their sponsorship, which currently sits at £23.5m per year.
