Anthony Martial has unfollowed Manchester United on social media following an apparent row over his shirt number.

The 20-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford last summer, has lost his favoured number nine shirt and instead been allocated number 11 for this season in order to accommodate the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Martial prompted speculation that he was unhappy with the change yesterday by posting an image on his Facebook page showing him in the number nine shirt moments after scoring the winning goal in last season's FA Cup semi-final against Everton.

Now the Frenchman has gone one step further by deciding to unfollow his club on both Twitter and Instagram on Sunday morning.

Martial is not part of the United squad currently on tour in China as he enjoys an extended break following France's Euro 2016 campaign.
