Manchester United trio take trip to San Francisco 49ers' home stadium

Manchester United trio Chris Smalling, Jesse Lingard and Tyler Blackett took some time out of their pre-season preparations in California to visit the home of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers this week.

The Red Devils are gearing up for Saturday's International Champions Cup friendly against Barcelona at the Levi Stadium, which hosts the 49ers' games.

After taking a tour of the ground in Santa Clara, the United trio met NFL players Eric Reid and Lawrence Okoye, who represented Great Britain in discus at the London 2012 Olympics before embarking on a career in American Football.

Smalling, who played in the second half of United's 3-1 win over San Jose Earthquakes on Tuesday, captured the visit on Instagram.
