Manchester United tipped to overtake Barcelona in Twitter followers

Bookmakers William Hill tip Manchester United to have more Twitter followers than Barcelona by the start of the 2013-14 campaign.

Manchester United have been backed to overtake Spanish giants Barcelona in the Twitter stakes.

The Premier League champions have racked up over 180,000 followers on the social networking website since launching their official account @ManUtd.

Following the surge of interest, bookmakers William Hill are offering 4/1 that the North-West outfit will surpass Barca in Twitter followers by the start of the 2013-14 season.

Barcelona currently have over 9.4m followers online.
