House of Manchester United star Angel di Maria 'targeted by burglars'

The home of Manchester United star Angel di Maria reportedly became the scene of an attempted burglary at the weekend.

The incident is said to have occurred following United's 3-1 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Di Maria, who started the game, was reportedly in the property when a number of burglars tried to smash the back door of his home in the Chelford Road area of Prestbury, according to BBC News.

Cheshire Police have confirmed that the men fled the scene prior to getting inside the building when the alarm was raised.
