Fly-by banner calling for Man United to sack Louis van Gaal exposed as fake

A 'Van Gaal Out' banner rumoured to be flying over Old Trafford at the weekend is exposed as fake.

A banner calling for Louis van Gaal to be sacked by Manchester United has been exposed as fake.

Rumours emerged on social media claiming that a 'Van Gaal Out' message would be flown over Old Trafford this weekend when the team were playing Norwich City in the Premier League.

An image of the so-called banner was posted on social media, but the Manchester Evening News has confirmed that the company who started the rumour has admitted that it is fake.

Van Gaal's future has been a talking point in recent weeks as the team have been criticised for their lack of attacking flair and their failure to reach the last 16 of the Champions League.

United suffered a 2-1 defeat to promoted side Bournemouth last weekend, but they remain in contention for the title as they are fourth in the table, six points off leaders Leicester City.
