Man City fan charged for 'racially abusing' Young

A Manchester City supporter has reportedly been charged by police after allegedly racially abusing Manchester United winger Ashley Young.

David Reeves, 24, was arrested at Old Trafford during United's 4-2 win over Manchester rivals City on April 12.

The supporter has now been charged with a racially-aggravated public order offence after allegedly abusing Young, who scored United's equaliser and set up two more goals in the match.

The Daily Mail quotes a Greater Manchester Police spokesman as saying: "David Reeves is charged with an offence of racially/religiously aggravated harassment/alarm/distress by words."

The City fan will appear at Trafford Magistrates' Court on May 26.
