Man City unveil 64m mural

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany was on hand to help unveil a 64m mural located at the club's academy stadium.

The Belgium international, as well as teammate Gael Clichy, joined more than 100 schoolchildren at a street party to complete the finishing touches on the piece.

The mural, which was designed by local group Outhouse, aims to show 'the football effect' that the game has had on City's young fans.

"It's been a special street party event today and the wall looks incredible," Kompany told the club's official website. "Being at the City Football Academy, in the heart of Manchester, means that we have a greater bond with the community and the surrounding areas and today's event showed this connection in action."

Members of the women's team Lucy Bronze and Emma Lipman took part in the event, while Kelechi Iheanacho and Mathias Bossaerts from the elite development squad were also in attendance.
