Luis Suarez shows off world's first knitted football boots by Adidas

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been chosen to promote the world's first knitted football boots created by sportswear brand Adidas.

The Uruguayan international, who has scored 23 goals for the Reds this season, has shown off the new footwear, named the Samba primekit, in promotional photos.

Senior VP for Global Football at Adidas, Markus Baumann, said: "Every Adidas product is developed with the player in mind and in particular, the needs of the player.

"By producing the world's first knitted football boot we have provided a brand new solution to the search for higher levels of comfort and flexibility."

The limited edition boots will go on sale from March 17.
