Postmen at a Royal Mail branch in Liverpool are reportedly planning to refuse to deliver copies of The Sun newspaper.
The publication is widely condemned on Merseyside following their controversial headline story after the 1989 Hillsborough disaster when 96 Liverpool supporters died as a result of a crush in the stands.
Around 50 staff members at the Skelmersdale office have been told by managers that they must deliver the copies, which are part of a World Cup promotional campaign.
However, one worker told the Liverpool Echo: "I felt sick to be honest that I would have to handle it. We would be delivering it to people that were at Hillsborough and to people that lost a loved one or knew someone that died at Hillsborough."
The national newspaper will send 22 million copies across England.
