Liverpool fan calls on supporters to help him pay for Brendan Rodgers sacking

Liverpool fan sets up 'sack Rodgers fund'

A Liverpool supporter has set up an online page calling for fellow fans to make donations so that they can pay to have manager Brendan Rodgers sacked.

The Northern Irish coach is under pressure following his side's performance in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to arch rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

It appears that Liverpool fan Michael Gavin has had enough as he has created a crowdfunding page on GoFundMe, titled 'Sack Brendan Rodgers Fund'.

Mr Gavin wrote: "Brendan Rodgers's time is up. There's not much more of this insipid football anyone can take. From the horrific signings to the tired cliches used in the media week in, week out - enough is enough.

"It's reported that it will take €10m (£7.3m) to sack him so this page has been set up to show FSG (owners) that LFC fans are so desperate to get rid off him that we are willing to pay for his sacking."

So far, two people in 17 hours have contributed, moving the fund to €15 (£11).
