Steven Gerrard poses with wife Alex for British Airways campaign

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and his wife Alex have become the faces of a new British Airways campaign.

The former England international, who will leave the Reds at the end of the season to join MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy, recently posed for promotional shots with his other half.

The pictures show Gerrard and Alex posing on the engine of a BA flight with palm trees around them, and they were also snapped holding hands on the steps leading to the aircraft.

Alex, who is the mother of Gerrard's three daughters - Lilly-Ella, 11, Lexie, nine, and three-year-old Lourdes, said: "We honeymooned in the Caribbean, so it has always been a really special place to us. We are hoping to squeeze in a week on one of the islands this summer."

The couple aren't the first from the football world to team up for promotional campaigns - Louise and Jamie Redknapp have done a few similar shoots, while Ashley Cole and his ex-wife Cheryl fronted the National Lottery's Dream Numbers in 2006.
