Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard reportedly decides to increase security measures at his home following an assault in August.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has reportedly increased security at his home in Formby, Merseyside, following an attack.

The 33-year-old, who lives with his wife Alex and their three daughters, is said to have been threatened and assaulted by a man after he drove to a nearby shop in his Range Rover in August.

Following the incident, the England international has decided to increase security measures to protect his family, according to the Daily Star.

A police officer is said to have been arrested in relation to the disappearance of CCTV footage of the attack.
