Steven Gerrard has farewell meal with friends in Liverpool before LA move

Steven Gerrard had a farewell meal with his friends this week as he prepares to leave Liverpool and move to Los Angeles.

The 35-year-old midfielder is scheduled to jet to the United States next month to begin an 18-month deal with MLS side LA Galaxy.

It appears as though the former England captain has been saying his goodbyes as he posted a group photo with the "lads" on Instagram.

Gerrard, who spent 17 years of his senior career at Anfield, wrote: "Last meal with the lads see you all in LA soon."

The first billboards promoting Gerrard's impending arrival have appeared in the Californian city over the last few days.
