Ipswich's N'Daw charged with assault

Ipswich Town midfielder Guirane N'Daw has been charged with assault following an incident in Ipswich town centre.

Police confirmed this morning that the 28-year-old, who, at the time, missed the Tractor Boys' 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers for 'personal reasons', was arrested at Ipswich Hospital on Friday evening after a woman had received treatment for bruising and minor injuries.

N'Daw was charged with assault late last night and will now appear before Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the Senegalese player had been detained in custody until that time.

The Senegalese international signed for the Blues on loan from Saint-Etienne in August, and has previously played for Birmingham City.

Another Ipswich player, Paul Taylor, was charged with assault as well earlier this month.
