Neville makes surprise visit to fan

Everton captain Phil Neville made a surprise visit to fan David Pritchard with a season ticket in hand.

The 41-year-old Toffees supporter, whose wife is battling Crohns disease and their nine-year-old son Jay suffers with a genetic condition, was nominated in Everton's Make Their Day initiative.

"I'm totally gobsmacked," Pritchard told the club's official website. "I had no idea whatsoever and my wife and the family have given nothing away, they've covered it up really well. I've been a massive Blue forever, I love my football and this means so much.

"You work hard and do everything you can for your family and this is an amazing way for them to tell me that they appreciate that."

Neville gave Pritchard the season ticket at his workplace in Mold, North Wales.
