Everton coach Duncan Ferguson declared bankrupt

Everton coach Duncan Ferguson has been declared bankrupt by the High Court in London.

The former striker was in the Everton dugout as normal during last night's League Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City, even though it had been revealed just hours earlier that a bankruptcy petition had been brought against him by HM Revenue and Customs in December.

The petition was rubber-stamped by the Hight Court earlier this month on January 15.

Ferguson was once the most expensive transfer between two British clubs when he moved from Dundee United to Rangers for £4m in 1993 before going on to play for Everton and Newcastle United in the Premier League.
