Fabrice Muamba reaches out to cricketer James Taylor over heart condition

Muamba tells Taylor to "enjoy life"

Former Bolton Wanderers footballer Fabrice Muamba has offered his support to England cricketer James Taylor, who has been forced to retire due to a heart condition.

The batsman announced the news on Tuesday, revealing that he has been diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Arrhythmia (ARVC).

The condition, which was detected after Taylor visited a specialist, is similar to the one that caused Muamba to collapse on the pitch during a game in 2012.

After hearing the news, Muamba contacted Taylor on Twitter, saying: "@jamestaylor20 having life is a great option.Retirement is inevitable but for some of us it's just earlier than expected. Enjoy life."

Taylor made seven Test appearances for England and played in 27 one-day internationals.
