Crystal Palace have asked their supporters to sign a petition urging MPs to debate the introduction of safe standing at Premier League and Championship football grounds.
Sports minister Tracey Crouch recently rejected proposals from West Bromwich Albion to trial standing at The Hawthorns, but a petition has been lodged to thrust the debate back onto the agenda.
"We know that many of our supporters want safe standing. We believe it should be debated in Parliament," said Palace in a statement.
Standing was banned in England's top two divisions under the terms of the Taylor Report on the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives.
The petition has attracted more than 86,000 signatures, a figure which must rise to 100,000 to force MPs to open a debate.
