Crystal Palace announce the "sudden and tragic" death of associate director Fergus McGovern.

Premier League club Crystal Palace have announced the "sudden and tragic" death of associate director Fergus McGovern.

In a statement, Palace said that McGovern had been a "near-permanent fixture in the boardroom for over 15 years".

"He will be sorely missed by everyone at the club and our deepest sympathy go to his wife Deanna and his children, Abby, Ryan and Ella," read the statement.

McGovern was also a vice-chair of the Palace Foundation and was granted the Freedom of the City of London for his charity work.
