Ex-policeman 'jailed for selling Terry story'

A former policeman has been jailed for 10 months for selling details of a story involving the mother-in-law of Chelsea captain John Terry.

Alan Tierney pleaded guilty to two offences of misconduct in a public office earlier this month.

The 40-year-old was sentenced to 10 months in prison for handing over information regarding the arrest of Terry's mother-in-law Sue Poole back in 2009 to The Sun newspaper, according to the Daily Mail.

The second count was related to information given regarding Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.
