Blake wins award for acting role

Former Cardiff City striker Nathan Blake has been rewarded for his acting ability by scooping an award from a Welsh film festival.

The 42-year-old, who also had stints at Bolton Wanderers during his playing career, took on his first acting role in film Say It last year after retiring from the sport in 2006.

Blake was given the Best Supporting Actor award at Film Fest Cymru 2014 for his part as a football coach in The Homing Bird.

Blake also played for Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City during his career.
