Ex-Chelsea youngster Gokhan Tore shot in Turkish nightclub

Former Chelsea midfielder Gokhan Tore was shot in a Turkish nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning.

The 22-year-old, who is on loan at Besiktas from Rubin Kazan, is to undergo surgery in hospital after taking a bullet to the shoulder.

Tore is said to have been one of six people wounded when gunshots were fired at around 4am local time.

A club statement said: "Gokhan Tore hurt his shoulder due to a man with a gun who was arguing with his girlfriend at a night club.

"The bullet accidentally hit Gokhan Tore's shoulder and another five people were hurt in the attack. Our player has no connection with the attacker."

Reports have claimed that Tore could return to training next week.
