German police have launched an investigation after a payslip belonging to Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia was leaked via WhatsApp.

The document, which was stolen from the 28-year-old's car, revealed that he earns around £88,000 a week - £4.6m a year - from the Bundesliga champions.

The playslip in question is from November 2015 and also displays Benatia's bank account information and home address.

The French-born Morocco international joined Pep Guardiola's side from Roma for a fee of £20m in 2014, but has been sidelined with injury for the majority of the current campaign.
