Contest winner chooses to meet Neymar over $10,000 cash prize

A female contest winner has opted to meet Barcelona and Brazil star Neymar, despite being offered a $10,000 cash prize instead.

Schoolgirl Rhiannon Conelley won the competition, which was sponsored by a Brazilian drinks company, by sending a picture of herself doing football tricks during the World Cup while wearing a Neymar football shirt.

Rhiannon told El Paso Times: "I just wanted to meet Neymar, I thought that was more important than the $10,000. Everyone disagrees with that, but I'm sticking to my guns.

"I'll ask him if he wants to marry me. I don't want to scare him too much. I don't want him to call security to kick me out."

The 16-year-old will meet the Barcelona star in Spain with her mother.
