Luis Enrique leaves hospital following surgery

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has revealed that he is recovering well after undergoing surgery for acute appendicitis on Monday.

The 44-year-old was sent to hospital for tests after complaining of abdominal pain at the club's training ground yesterday morning.

The results revealed that the Spaniard would require surgery to treat his acute appendicitis, and the operation was deemed "successful".

On his official Twitter account, Enrique thanked the staff at the hospital, before claiming that he felt "like new" and was heading home "to rest".

Enrique took charge of Barcelona this summer following the departure of Gerardo Martino.
