Davis Love III: 'We handled the pressure'

USA captain Davis Love III says that the way in which his side "handled the pressure" was the deciding factor as they won the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine.

USA captain Davis Love III has said that "everybody did their part" as his team recorded a 17-11 win over Europe to win the Ryder Cup.

The home side were never behind in the event at Hazeltine and Love III was full of praise for his players as they secured their first triumph in eight years.

The 52-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Our guys handled the pressure. There was a lot of stunning golf. Phil put up 10 birdies and only got a half today.

"I'm proud of what Darren Clarke did but we pulled together and put up a performance. Everybody did their part, from the people in the locker room to the guys on the course."

Love III had previously captained the American side when they let slip a 10-6 advantage at Medinah in 2012.
