Woods cards worst round of his career

Tiger Woods has endured the worst 18 holes of his professional career after carding a 12-over-par 82 in the second round of the Phoenix Open.

The former world number one started poorly with three bogeys, a double-bogey six and a triple-bogey eight as he reached the turn in 44 shots.

Woods picked up two birdies on the final nine holes, but dropped a further five strokes to leave the 39-year-old tied for last place in Arizona.

It was only the second time that the 14-time Major winner had carded a round over 80 shots. As a result, Woods misses two successive cuts for the first time in his career.
