Henrik Stenson sets up final against Mikko Ilonen at World Match Play Championship

Stenson sets up Ilonen final

Henrik Stenson will face Mikko Ilonen in the final of the Volvo World Match Play Championship after the pair battled through a pair of tight semi-finals at the London Golf Club.

World number five Stenson scraped through 1 Up against South Africa's George Coetzee, while Ilonen saw off the tournament's in-form player, Joost Luiten, 2&1.

Sweden's Stenson never led in his match against Coetzee until the final hole when he made birdie to nick the win.

Luiten, who had won every one of his matches at the event going into his semi, birdied just one hole as Ilonen edged him out.

Stenson and Ilonen will now contest the final this afternoon, with Coetzee and Luiten contesting for third place.
