Rod Pampling maintains lead at Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

Rod Pampling has managed to retain his lead at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open after shooting a second-round 68.

The Australian came within inches of recording a score of 59 on the opening day of the tournament in Las Vegas, and although he inevitably did not come near matching that feat on Friday, six more birdies ensured that he remained ahead of the field.

Brooks Koepka is just one shot back in second place while American compatriot Aaron Wise is in third, although he is yet to complete his second round.

Chris Kirk recorded an impressive 65 to sit three shots off the lead with James Hahn, Keegan Bradley and Pat Perez all in a share for fifth position.

Ireland's Seamus Power and Scotland's Martin Laird find themselves down the leaderboard in 48th and 66th respectively but both players should make the cut.
