Ross Fisher takes two-shot lead after Nedbank Golf Challenge first round

Fisher takes two-shot lead in SA

Ross Fisher has taken the clubhouse lead after carding a first-round 66 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa.

The Englishman hit six-under-par for the day after securing seven birdies and only had one blemish in the form of a bogey on the 16th hole.

George Coetzee, Marcel Siem and Alexander Levy are the closest challengers to Fisher's early lead as they all sit two shots below him.

Defending champion Thomas Bjorn had a poor round and finished at the bottom of the field after hitting five bogeys, as well as double bogeys on the sixth and 17th holes to finish eight-over on 80.

Martin Kaymer also struggled to maintain form with four bogeys and a double bogey, but the German's four birdies left him two shots over with a first-round 74.
