Jaidee becomes oldest Open de France winner

Thongchai Jaidee has eased to a four-stroke victory at the Open de France to become the competition's oldest winner.

The 46-year-old carded a three-under 68 on day four to finish well ahead of closest challenger Francesco Molinari at Le Golf National.

A tap-in bogey at the last blighted Jaidee's record somewhat, but it mattered little as he claimed his first title triumph of the calendar year.

There was to be little joy for Rory McIlroy, meanwhile, as he finished in third place with a final round of 71 after dragging himself back into contention on Saturday.

Further down the leaderboard, Rafael Cabrera-Bello finished in fourth place while Martin Kaymer and Andy Sullivan slipped away over the closing holes to end in a tie for fifth.
