Fleetwood claims first European Tour title

Tommy Fleetwood has won his first European Tour title by beating Stephen Gallacher and Ricardo Gonzalez in a playoff at the Johnnie Walker Championship.

The 22-year-old, from Southport, shot 70 for his final round at Gleneagles to finish 18-under-par for the championship.

Gallacher had all the momentum heading into the three-way showdown after signing for a 67, but he found the bunker with his second shot at the par-five 18th - the first playoff hole.

He could only save par from there, while Gonzales, who held at least a share of the lead in each of the previous three rounds, also went in for a five.

After seeing his eagle attempt shave the edge of the cup, Fleetwood was left with just three feet to win the title, and he showed no sign of nerves as he tapped in.
