England's Lee Slattery wins Russian Open

England's Lee Slattery has won the M2M Russian Open with a one-shot victory in Moscow.

The 37-year-old began the day with a two-shot lead over his nearest rivals Craig Lee and Estanislao Goya, and he managed to hold his composure with a two-under round of 71 to secure the triumph.

Slattery's victory was his second on the European tour, but his first win on the circuit since 2011.

Goya finished one shot behind the Englishman on 14-under, despite recording a three-under round of 68, while David Horsey finished in third place on 13-under for the tournament.

South Africa's Jake Roos recorded the round of the day with an eight-under display, but it was only good enough to finish in tied-eighth in the competition.
