Rory McIlroy close to return?

World number one Rory McIlroy has released a video of him hitting a drive as he gears up for a return following injury.

McIlroy was injured playing football, which meant that he missed The Open in St Andrews last month.

It is thought that McIlroy is aiming to defend his US PGA Championship title at Whistling Straits next week, but he did pull out of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio this weekend.

McIlroy will slip to second in the world rankings if Jordan Spieth wins in Ohio.
