Tiger Woods named PGA Tour player of year

Tiger Woods is named PGA Tour player of the year for the 11th time, with Jordan Spieth winning the rookie gong.

America's Tiger Woods has been named as PGA Tour player of the year for the 11th time, it has been confirmed today.

No other golfer has ever won the title, voted for by the tour's players, more than twice.

Jordan Spieth was voted rookie of the year as expected, having finished his first full year 10th on the tour's prize money list.

Woods has five PGA wins this year, although he has not claimed a Major since 2008.
